The Bellyfairies are a bellydance and cabaret showdance performance group that were created when Sandy Maya was invited to be a guest performer at NBAF 2017. Its members have seen some changes since their debut, but the essence has not been lost. The Bellyfairies' mission is to bring joy to their audience whilst they enjoy dancing together in harmony.

Fatamorgana is a Reading based group that come together every Wednesday lunchtime for sessions at Sandy Maya's Dance. Although many of its members have danced together for years, this particular group came to life in 2025 and have been performing at several events since then. The name is the equivalent to mirage. In Germany the Italian words Fata Morgana ( Morgan Le Fay ) are used to describe a mirage and since Sandy is German, it felt fitting for her to use that name for this group.

Sandy taught her first choreo workshop in 2017 and has taught over 30 workshops before the end of the year 2026.
When her workshop students are performing, they were formally referred to as Bellyvibez beauties ( linked to the name of the venue where Sandy used to teach her students ) but the name changed in 2024 when workshops resumed and the name no longer represented the current location.

The Quaintrelles are Sandy Maya's students that perform every year at Bastille Day Festival Reading at Forbury Garden. They bring a variety of French themed dances to the event each year.
Halloween apparitions since 2023 ( youtube playlist here )
Halloween Apparitions is the name given to Sandy Maya's Dance workshop attendees that are specifically Halloween themed. It all started when Sandy performed a Halloween solo to Billie Eilish's Bad guy back in 2019 and her students asked her if they could learn it in a workshop....then came Covid and with that a break from dancing....fast forward and Sandy's first Halloween themed workshop happened in 2023 and every year after that.

Sandy Maya started creating Belly-Line-Dances in 2020 and when her students perform these dances, they are referred to as Line gems.

Sandy Maya completed her apprenticeship at the SMBA ( Santa Maria Bellydance Academy ) in 2015 and began teaching the very same year. In 2016 Sandy was lucky to get a coaching position at the SMBA, starting to teach beginners at first, but from 2017 onwards Sandy teaches a mixed level of students and creates her own choreographies for them.

Sandy Maya's began breaking out of teaching solely bellydance and added more of a show element to her dances, especially since they were performing at the Bastille Day Festival Reading event on a regular basis. That is when the Show Vibez came in.

The RBSB ( Rachel Benett School of Bellydance ) was Sandy's first teaching opportunity after she completed her teacher apprenticeship in 2015. Sandy loved every moment of teaching at the RBSB but location change meant she could not longer continue at the current venue.
