Romani influenced skirt dance
Session type: Romani influenced skirt dance where the skirt acts as partial prop throughout the dance for expression.
When: 13th September 2026 at 1:15pm
Duration: 2,5 hours

Intermediate/Advanced level,
A wide skirt should be worn to get the most out of this workshop as the skirt also acts as a prop to highlight moves with expressive swishing and wrapping.
A circle skirt/gypsy style skirt would be ideal.

Cancan sessions PAYG

Cancan session PAYG
Session type: Sessions to learn steps and technique of cancan dancing. The sessions are to build up a choreography for our annual appearance at Bastille Day Festival Reading, but you can also just attend the sessions for fun, without the pressure to perform.
When: Ad hoc dates, please check the schedule
Duration: 55 minutes
Where: Sunflower studio in Lower Earley
Additional info:
This session requires good fitness level.
To be avoided if suffering from knee or hip injuries.
This type of dance involves a lot of bouncing ( supportive bra recommended )
Participants need to bring their own skirts for swish action.
If you do not have a cancan skirt, any wide long skirt will work just as well.
Options for all abilities provided.

Open Level Bellydance Course
Session type: Learn the first set of moves and a simple choreography in Part 1
When: Thursdays 12pm
Duration: 1 hour per session - 5 week course with drop in option
Dates: 5 week course starts 10th September 2026, last class 8th October
Where: Sunflowere Studio in Lower Earley, RG6 3**

Complete Home studio address will be provided after booking
Learn the first set of basic moves and learn a simple bellydance choreography
Minimum registration needs to be reached for the class to run. Once registered, the
class will not be refunded.
In the event of cancelation by Sandy Maya's Dance, you'll get notified 2 days prior to
the event and a full refund will be issued or if preferred, the credit can be used for another class.
If you choose PAYG, ensure to register at least 24 hours prior to the class.
PAYG can only be granted, if there is space. If the class is fully booked, PAYG students cannot book that date.
If you want to ensure that you can attend all sessions, then sign up for the complete term and save a few pennies, as the course is a littl cheaper than PAYG.

many offerings happen ad hoc on different dates and times.
Please check for available and pre-register your sessions at least 24 hours in advance to secure your space, as these sessions are offered in a small space and we need to avoid overbooking to ensure everyone's comfort in class.
This pass is valid for 5 sessions within the month indicated for classes offered within that month. This pass cannot be used for classes in upcoming months.

Sunflower studio rehearsal - max 5 people - imaginary props ( not valid for Maiden Place sessions )

This is an extension to the rehearsals run at Maiden Place.
As it is tricky to book a room at a time that fits everyone, I am adding some dates at my home studio, so that everyone gets a chance to rehearse.
Only valid at Hawkedon Way Home Studio for a small number of people
Rehearsing at my home studio means space limitation and props cannot be used as it would implicate health and safety.
If you sign up for these rehearsal sessions you are aware of space restriction and needing to go over the routines without props.
These sessions cost less than the in studio classes for that reason.
